It has to be big, it has to offer kegs, it has to have catering, it has to have a hotel nearby and The Venue has to be “comfortable” with us and our “thing.” That last part is the tough one. You see Yahtzee needs to come with some sort of a disclaimer… Something like, “This is a pseudo-competitive event that I, The Best Yahtzee Player Ever, am supposed to win. Please come, eat, drink and make merry. But be warned, Yahtzee is not for the faint of heart, Bob may get naked, Bill surely will, the floor will be wet with beer and at some point, I may break down in tears. It’s unlike any other charity event you have ever seen, it’s Yahtzee.” The Venue has to be cool. It can’t be uptight or whiny or worried about trivial things like vomit and law suits and liquor licenses. The Venue has to be cool and it has to be comfortable with being lied too. It’s basically the equivalent of a one-night stand.
That is what we’ve found with The Deuce.
